GARDEN OF DELIGHT - Last Concert

A legend sends signals from the hereafter

On 1st November 2008, exactly a year after the release of their last regular album, one of the most influential German goth bands bade their farewell with a brilliant concert.GARDEN OF DELIGHT wrote history and their passing has left behind a hole which will be hard to fill. But their fans’ sorrow over the loss can now be at least partially alleviated. GARDEN OF DELIGHT release that final concert as a limited DVD/2CD edition.

Once again you can experience how a legendary goth band performed a cross-section of their 17-year history in front of an enthusiastic audience. The quality of both the music and the sound is redoubtable; emotional and intense. So were GARDEN OF DELIGHT; so are they, so will they ever be! ‘The Last Concert’ offers brilliant picture and sound quality of the highest level which puts some other live productions in the shade.

The bulk of the setlist is made up of material from the last two epic albums, ‘Darkest Hour’ and ‘Lutherion III’, but naturally no classics such as ‘Astral Traveller’, ‘High Empress’, ‘Northern Skies’ or ‘Play Dead’ could be omitted. Equally so with memories of the early days of GARDEN OF DELIGHT, with songs such as ‘The Seal’, ‘Shared Creation’ and naturally the inspired ‘Necromanteion’ again risen from the dead in order to end with a brilliant final ‘in memoriam’.

A concert which will leave no-one cold: neither those who experienced it at the time nor those who missed it. GARDEN OF DELIGHT will thus remain in our memories!

‘The Last Concert’ isn’t available in the shops but is released as a strictly limited edition in a stylish eight-panelled digipak, personally authenticated and hand-numbered by Artaud, which contains the complete concert on DVD (running time: 135 minutes) and additionally an audio version on two CDs.
